What a blend calculator is for

A fertilizer blend calculator takes the nutrients you want on the acre and turns them into product rates you can mix, price, and hand to the plant. You enter your desired analysis, the acres on the order, and the products you actually stock at the prices you charge. The calculator returns how much of each product to use, the nutrients those rates deliver, and what the blend costs per acre and for the whole field.

A spreadsheet or last week's ticket works until the price list moves or a conversion is typed wrong on a large order. A small slip in a rate is real tonnage at the mixer. One calculator keeps the products, the prices, and the arithmetic in the same place.

The inputs you already have

What you type is what you already know when a grower is standing there. Nitrogen, phosphate as P₂O₅, potash as K₂O, and sulfur, written as your desired analysis. Acres for the field or the booking. A price for each product you are willing to put in the blend. Dry products are handled in pounds per acre. Liquid products are handled in gallons per acre, and each liquid carries a weight per gallon so the guaranteed analysis, which is a percent by weight, still lands on the acre as pounds of nutrient.

You are not locked to one manufacturer's lineup. The products are whatever the location stocks and prices. Leave a product off and it is not part of the answer. Change a price and the cost of the blend moves with it.

Lowest cost, not just a recipe that adds up

More than one recipe can meet your desired analysis. They will not all cost the same. A straight nitrogen source and a product that carries nitrogen plus another nutrient can be combined in more than one way, and the cheaper path depends on the prices that week. FertCalc Pro uses the products and prices you entered and works out the lowest-cost rates that hit the targets. You still see each product's rate, the nutrients per acre, and the cost per acre before anything is printed. If a rate looks wrong for the crop or the field, you change the target or the products you are willing to use. The tool does the math. You decide what to sell.

A single product's cost per pound of nutrient is a different question, and it is a useful one when you are comparing straight goods. That figure divides the price per ton by the pounds of that nutrient in a ton. It is the right screen for what this nitrogen costs per pound. It is not the whole story once several products share your desired analysis. In a blend, the number the grower feels is the cost of the mix per acre, and the number worth checking beside it is the cost per pound of each nutrient inside that mix. The quote shows both, from the same rates. The cost per pound of nitrogen calculator is the short version for one product. This page is the blend.

The plant and the grower get the same rates

The calculator is only half the job if the plant still retypes the order. From those rates FertCalc Pro prints a blend sheet and a grower quote. On the blend sheet you set the desired number of batches. Batches are 15,000 lb or less. The sheet lists the pounds of each product, the cumulative scale reading, and the tons. The quote lists the cost per acre and the field total.

Liquid blends follow the same path in gallons. Density matters, because the analysis is still a weight percent, and a gallon of one product is not a gallon of another. The liquid fertilizer blend calculator page walks through gallons, pounds per gallon, and a liquid sheet. When the order is dry and the plant needs the loading sequence, start with the dry fertilizer blend sheet. Both documents come from the FertCalc Pro calculator, not from a second set of notes.

Who it is for, and what it will not do

Agronomists, location managers, and farmers who want a cost per acre use the same steps. It runs in the browser, with nothing to install. FertCalc Pro does not replace a soil test, a recommendation you trust, or your responsibility under fertilizer labeling rules. Set your desired analysis, check the rates and the prices, then print. The 14-day free trial needs no card. Add a card before it ends to keep going at $24.99 a month or $274.99 a year.
