One sheet for the person on the scale
A dry fertilizer blend sheet is the page the plant loads from. The quote tells the grower what the blend costs. The sheet tells the operator which products go in the mixer, how many pounds of each, and where the scale should sit after every product. If those two documents are built from different notes, the loaded analysis and the sold analysis drift apart. FertCalc Pro prints both from the same rates, so the pounds on the clipboard are the pounds on the quote.
You start with your desired analysis, the acres, and the dry products you will use, each with a price per ton. The fertilizer blend calculator turns that into pounds per acre. Those pounds, times the acres, are the order. The blend sheet splits the order into batches the plant can mix.
You set the batches
On the blend sheet you set the desired number of batches. Batches are 15,000 lb or less. A larger order becomes more batches, not a heavier one. Keeping each batch at 15,000 lb or less matches what a mixer or a tender can take in one load, and it keeps every scale reading on a single sequence instead of a weight the operator has to split on the floor. The sheet shows the pounds of each product in one batch. The batches match, because the order is split evenly across the count you chose.
The scale is a running total
The loading sequence is a running scale. The first product is a weight. Each product after it adds to that weight, and the sheet prints the cumulative number. The operator watches the scale climb to the next reading instead of zeroing the scale, and instead of adding pounds in their head. The last cumulative figure is the batch weight. Under that, the sheet totals tons for the batch and, when you chose more than one batch, tons for the full run. It also lists tons by product, so ordering and inventory can be checked against what was printed.
A batch log on the same sheet has one line per batch, so the plant can mark each batch as it is made. If the acres or a rate changes, print again. Do not hand-correct the scale column.
Products applied on their own, such as anhydrous ammonia, stay off that scale. They can still be on the quote. The sheet is for what the blender loads.
The rates underneath the sheet
A clean sheet cannot rescue a recipe that misses your desired analysis or ignores this week's prices. More than one combination of dry products can hit the same analysis, and the lowest-cost combination is not always the one someone memorized. The blend calculator solves the rates from the products you priced. Before a product even goes on the list, the cost per pound of nitrogen calculator is the simpler check: price per ton divided by the pounds of that nutrient in a ton. A product that looks cheap per ton can be expensive per pound of the nutrient you are counting on. That single-product figure assigns the whole ton price to the nutrient. Inside a blend, FertCalc Pro credits nutrients that share a product so phosphate is not charged for nitrogen that came along with it.
What the grower should see is not the scale column. It is the quote: products, rate per acre, cost per acre, cost per pound of nutrient, and the field total. Printing the quote from the same screen you used for the sheet means the dollars and the pounds describe one blend. If you change a price or the acres after the sheet is on the clipboard, print both again. FertCalc Pro keeps those two documents tied together.
Dry pounds, liquid gallons
Liquid orders need a different unit. Gallons, not pounds, are what the inductor and the nurse tank measure, and the weight per gallon is what turns that volume back into nutrient. The liquid fertilizer blend calculator covers that path, including a sheet that splits the order into the number of batches you set. Dry batches stay in pounds, and they stay at 15,000 lb or less.
A blend sheet is a loading document, not a recommendation. You choose your desired analysis, confirm the analyses and the prices, and keep every batch at 15,000 lb or less. Check the sheet before the first batch is weighed. The 14-day free trial needs no card. Add a card before it ends to keep going at $24.99 a month or $274.99 a year.
